Missions Update – Tokyo Bound

Greetings from Victoria, British Colombia. After visiting with Central Baptist in Victoria today, Kath, Julia and I will fly to Tokyo. Since 1994 we have always headed north from the airport in Tokyo, but this time we will take a short trip Southeast, where the next leg in our Japanese life will begin. Our task for the rest of the summer will be to get Julia started in grade 10 at Christian Academy of Japan in Tokyo, find an apartment…

Our Two Weeks Away!

As many of you know, we take time every year for a spiritual retreat. It’s a time for Darlene and I to get away, pray, read Scripture, and commune with God. Another reason for the retreat is to schedule the calendar of events and preaching calendar. I just wanted to let you know what you can expect in the next year. I’m personally energized by the time away, and believe we have some great series and messages that are going…

Missions Update – Flemings

July 2016 Dear friends,   We have been in Tokyo for just over half a year, have seen God at work confirming the decision to move  here, and granting continued smooth transition from Ibaraki, where we lived for over 20 years.   Julia(16) has made the transition to English high school in Japan really well, loves all the sports (varsity volleyball, basketball, and soccer), and new friends.  She also manages to find time to attend grade 10 classes at Christian…

Annual Report – Looking Ahead – 2014/15

Pastoral Report Prepared by Jon Korkidakis Annual Meeting 2014 – 2015 It has been quite a year. In fact, I am going to venture to say it is likely one of the most changed filled years in the history of Village Green. A bit dramatic maybe, but it’s a point you need to consider. Two things contribute to my saying this, first, our new addition and secondly, our move to two services. Our addition, at the time of this writing,…

Coldest Night Walks 2013

The Walking Freezers were back for a second year on February 23, 2013, helping to raise funds for Mission Services, and sharing the community of 160 people in yellow toques. As we walked through downtown London there were lots of horns honking support and people asking what we were doing. They knew we were doing something good!

Christmas Letter 2014

To our Village Green Community Church family; Welcome to our Christmas letter for 2014. Darlene and I want to take the time right now and wish you a Merry Christmas. Certainly the most common refrain we’ve heard is how quickly this year has evaporated. So with that in mind, we pray that in the midst of the year’s busiest season you will get a chance to pause, breathe, and reflect. But most of all, take a moment to celebrate our…
