Our Two Weeks Away!

Our Two Weeks Away!

As many of you know, we take time every year for a spiritual retreat. It’s a time for Darlene and I to get away, pray, read Scripture, and commune with God. Another reason for the retreat is to schedule the calendar of events and preaching calendar.

I just wanted to let you know what you can expect in the next year. I’m personally energized by the time away, and believe we have some great series and messages that are going to enrich and enliven your walk with Christ.

In September, the month will start off with a “visioning” message followed the week after with a celebration service marking the official opening of the addition. Part of the celebration service will include baptisms, parental dedications, and memberships. It should be a dynamic start to the ministry year. Maybe we should think of getting fireworks?

Following those services, we dive into our September to November series and Life Group cycle. This year we begin with a series entitled Created to Thrive, which unpacks the implications of Jesus’ statement that a life of faith in him is a life of fullness.

For the Christmas Season we enter into the series Daring Greatly: Faithful Living in Difficult Times. I’m excited for the possibilities these two series of messages have in deepening our faith walk and bringing us to a fitting conclusion for 2015.

Before I give you some hints of what to expect in 2016, I want to let you know that we plan to continue our Sunday evening dinners and you’ll see a renewed emphasis on our Infusion prayer gatherings. Both of these are important for building up our community beyond our Sunday morning services.

I don’t want to get too far into 2016, but I will tell you that the New Year will start off with a bang (excuse the pun). The next message and Life Group installment will be a series entitled Do Not…But Why Not? The Ten Ways We Get Tripped Up? I wonder if you can guess what part of the Bible this series will focus on?

That’s my brief summary of what you can look forward to in the near future. Please be praying that God will use these messages for His glory and our good.

Blessings to you all
