3 Biblical Principles for Christians During an Election
Elections are always a tense time in our society. As most of us cast a vote this week, we will do so hoping our candidate will win and shape our province the way we believe is best. Elections sometimes feel like the Super Bowl – many of us will gather around our televisions cheering our “team” to victory. Elections are also tense because they can cause deep divides in our relationships. If you come from a family with strong political…
Jacob and Leidy Paul
Hi Everyone, In the effort of trying to do things differently this year, we have decided to send you an update in a mini-series form. This means that instead of one long gargantuan update every 4 months about everything, you will be getting a shorter update focused in on one area that we are involved in or our life in general. We hope this leads to you all feeling a bit more informed and being a bit more up to…
The Main Reasons People Seek Out a Church
I continue to hear and read about the decline in church attendance. Even among the demographic of committed members, they are showing up less. It’s troublesome to say the least. Especially when church has a lot to offer. Considering the state of affairs I wondered, What would make a person or a family seek out a church? After-all, do we really have any idea what would drive a person to the doors of a church? Seekers are few and far…
The Enduring Power of Love
A lot has been written since the wedding of Prince Harry and Meagan Markle. Yes, I was one of the many who rose early in the day to watch the royal extravaganza. Whatever your reason for watching, the ceremony produced a number of surprises. The biggest surprise for me should not have been a surprise at all. It was the significant role that love played. This sounds strange considering it was a wedding after-all. If anything, love is the main…

Not Growing Spiritually? Here Are 6 Reasons Why You’re Likely Floundering.
Spiritual growth can be difficult. In our face-paced and media saturated culture we can find it difficult to experience peace, contentment, and deep connection with others. Add spiritual growth into the mix and chances are it finds little room in an otherwise hectic schedule. To complicate matters further, there is no one-size-fits-all formula for growth. We are all wired uniquely and have different ways of learning and growing. Regardless of how you best connect with God, there are some basics…
When Leaders Retreat
This past Saturday the staff, elders, and board members of the church met to review and discuss the vision for Village Green. God has led incredible men and women to take the reigns of leadership at our church. As I left the room, I was encouraged by the health and unity of our teams – everyone takes their leadership role seriously and strives to be a good steward at Village Green. At the top of our agenda was a verse from Proverbs…

Village Green hosted a special evening on May 4th, and over 100 women shared in the celebration. There were beautiful decorations by Rose, tables of delicious desserts, and lots of smiles. Rose and Julia sang a beautiful duet, supported by Brenda on the keyboard. And undaunted by the power outage, Robin sang a lovely hymn. The guest speaker was Sue Das, whose Beyond the Shadow blog has been a growing success for almost a year. As she shows in her…
