Not Growing Spiritually? Here Are 6 Reasons Why You’re Likely Floundering.

Spiritual growth can be difficult. In our face-paced and media saturated culture we can find it difficult to experience peace, contentment, and deep connection with others. Add spiritual growth into the mix and chances are it finds little room in an otherwise hectic schedule. To complicate matters further, there is no one-size-fits-all formula for growth. We are all wired uniquely and have different ways of learning and growing. Regardless of how you best connect with God, there are some basics…

When Leaders Retreat

This past Saturday the staff, elders, and board members of the church met to review and discuss the vision for Village Green. God has led incredible men and women to take the reigns of leadership at our church. As I left the room, I was encouraged by the health and unity of our teams – everyone takes their leadership role seriously and strives to be a good steward at Village Green. At the top of our agenda was a verse from Proverbs…

Women’s Event – 2018-May-04

Village Green hosted a special evening on May 4th, and over 100 women shared in the celebration. There were beautiful decorations by Rose, tables of delicious desserts, and lots of smiles. Rose and Julia sang a beautiful duet, supported by Brenda on the keyboard.  And undaunted by the power outage, Robin sang a lovely hymn. The guest speaker was Sue Das, whose Beyond the Shadow blog has been a growing success for almost a year. As she shows in her…

Glorious Ruins

Our heart-shattered lives don’t for a moment escape God’s notice! He takes our brokenness and transforms it into something glorious – something that can change the world! Glorious Ruins from Village Green Community Church on Vimeo. Worship is about developing intimacy with God. It is about spending time getting to know who God is and being honest with Him about who we are. We all experience times of challenge and temptation; we experience periods when the brokenness of this world…

Immeasurably More – Our Focus for 2016-17

On Sunday February 28th, 2016, we gathered as a church to celebrate the completion of our new addition. It was wonderful to be able to dedicate this new space as a continuing expression of our mission and vision for Village Green. We also introduced our Immeasurably More Campaign. A phrase found in Ephesians 3:20, in which the apostle Paul expresses in doxological form, the fullness of his blessing to the church at Ephesus. For the many who laboured in faithfulness…

Results of the ‘One Question’ Survey

Last month we asked you to respond to a survey which asked, What makes you return to Village Green? We received 132 surveys, which in the world of statistics, is an overwhelming response. So, first of all, we want to thank you for taking the time and sharing the reasons why you continue to make Village Green your home. Secondly, we want to give you the results. They are very interesting and will also enable the leadership to make prudent decisions…

Created to Thrive-Some Additional Resources

We’ve been talking during this sermon series about thriving – thriving intellectually, emotionally, physically, relationally, and spiritually. In some way, this series has touched many of you and I appreciate how its helping you understand biblical truth as applied to the whole of your life. Recently a newsletter I subscribe to presented a series of TED talks revolving around emotional well-being. Each one touched in one way or another…

Syrian Refuge Crisis-An Update

From the Elders, We want to let everyone know that VGCC is aware and heartbroken about the present Syrian refugee crisis. At present, we are in prayer and taking steps to discern what is the best way for us to be involved. For instance, is it to be in resettlement or to contribute to immediate relief for those still in crisis and in critical need in the refugee camps? The Elders have been contacting other church communities in London as…
