Village Green – Easter Update

Welcome to this week’s newsletter. A special update considering this will be the first time in history that the church around the world is celebrating the Easter season in ways it never has before. Regardless, the church and the message of Easter will resonate in millions of communities around the globe and into the hearts of many more.

This Sunday is Palm Sunday with Easter just around the corner. These are significant days but recognize they will be celebrated differently than normal this year. What isn’t different is the meaning of the Easter season. That Gods love through the death and resurrection of Jesus was given so that through faith, we can live lives free from the guilt of sin and shame.

Here is your weekly update on all that is happening at Village Green. As we continue to navigate some new realities, I wanted to highlight one reality that struck me this past week.

Kid’s Connection – Staying Connected

In an effort to stay connected we are reaching out to those of you who are a vital part of our kid’s ministries here at Village Green. It’s easy to buy into the idea that what we do as a church has been put on hold or is unimportant in light of the global concern all around us.

HERE ARE THE COMMON STRUGGLES EVERY AUDIENCE SHARES.

Standing in front of people to deliver a message can be a daunting experience. We wonder if what we have to say will connect with people in real and practical ways. This is especially true in the context of the church, where the messages are vehicles of bringing hope and meaning into people’s lives. In this post, I outline the common struggles that exist in every crowd, regardless of size. Knowing these will help you engage your audience in meaningful and effective ways.

Discerning Truth: A Follow Up to a Sermon on Truth (Oct 27, 2019)

While into the series on “We Are The Church,” we presented a message on truth, a hallmark of our Christian faith. I presented the 4 areas where ‘truth’ questions resonate most, in the areas of Origins, Meaning, Morality, and Destiny. I also mentioned that the Christian faith is the only one that satisfies their truth claims through the filters of correspondence and coherence.
