Village Green – Community Update – April 16, 2020

Welcome to this week’s update from Village Green Community Church.

I want to take a moment and thank the many who sent notes of encouragement and ‘thanks’ over the Good Friday and Easter services. Many of you were blessed and I must admit it was the first time I led a Communion service virtually.

I also want to take a moment to extend a special note of appreciation to those who are making our Sunday morning services possible. Our Worship Coordinator, Matthew Burkholder, has been leading us faithfully week in and week out during this time of isolation and yet has made us feel as if we are worshipping together with one voice. Thank you, Matthew, for not only your giftedness and talent, but for your faithfulness to the Lord and to the people you are called to serve. We are so blessed.

What you don’t see on a Sunday morning are those who make sure the production goes smoothly. The core team from the beginning has been Father and son team of Phil and Aiden Wiebe. Over the weeks it has been supplemented by Kaylissa Wiebe and Mark Spruyt. (To be clear, we have not had more than 5 people during the production of a service).

To our production crew, thank you for your faithfulness and technical prowess. For those of us on the platform we are well aware that without you, it simply wouldn’t be possible to deliver anything on a Sunday morning. We are so blessed.

Starting this Sunday!

We begin a new 3-part series this Sunday called AWE-thenic. We often hear that character is king. Beyond talents and abilities, the makeup of our personality makes us either lovable or loathsome. This is especially important if we call ourselves a follower of Jesus.

In this first installment we look at the characteristics that are the most difficult to not only attain but maintain. These are also the character qualities we love in others, qualities that give life, energy, and wholeness whenever we are in their presence.

So, join us for this inspiring look at the Fruit of the Spirit as found in Galatians 5:22-23. It may be just the reminder and encouragement you need to not only grow more AWE-thentic but grow more confident in the God who made you.

Kids Connection

Our families continue to be a regular part of our prayers during this time. As part of our ongoing commitment to feeding the souls of our children we offer the links to the First Look and 252 teaching videos. We hope these resources are helping and if so, we would love to hear from you.
