“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out of your door. You step into the Road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there is no knowing where you might be swept off to.”
Tolkien’s Bilbo in the Hobbit.
Dear Friends,
It is with grateful hearts as we remember your many years of prayer and support! We could write a little book called, “There and Back Again”, but it wouldn’t be, “a Hobbit’s Holiday”, it would be, “It’s Been Quite the Journey”. We spent more than half of our lives putting down deep roots in Japan, learning to share Jesus’ love with Japanese, celebrating with those who believed, and praying for more to do so. We officially retire from all that on August 31st, with just one more weekend trip to Echo Bay to thank the last of our supporting churches.
Kathryn and I will continue to live in KW, moving from Kitchener to Waterloo at the end of September. We do not know exactly what God has in store for us but our new roles as Jiiji (Japanese for Grandpa) and Nana, are part of our future. We look forward to God’s best for us.

And how blessed all those in whom you live, whose lives become roads you travel; They wind through lonesome valleys, come upon brooks, discover cool springs and pools brimming with rain! God-traveled, these roads curve up the mountain, and at the last turn–Zion. God in full view! Psalm 84:5-7 The Message
Thank you once again for being a part of our support team in Japan all these years. Please keep praying for the 99.8% of Japanese still without Jesus.
With grateful hearts,
Rob & Kathryn Fleming
