Flemings in the Philippines!

Flemings in the Philippines!

We hope and pray that you had a meaningful Christmas season as you celebrated the birth of our Lord and Savior. This past Christmas was extra special for our family, as Mia started to understand more of who Jesus is and had so much fun celebrating His birthday! As we move further into the new year, we’d love to share a little snapshot of what this semester looks like for us.

Changes in Rhythms

There have been a few changes this semester in our ministry as we eagerly await baby boy’s arrival later this month! Britt is on maternity leave and won’t be doing any ministry at Faith Academy this semester. Grady is only teaching one class, AP Research. With the rest of his time, he is studying current trends and new developments in practical theology and missiology. We are thankful for a slower and more flexible season where we can spend more time as a family as we prepare to welcome baby boy into the world. Mia often talks about all the things she wants to do and share with her little brother. Please pray that this would be a sweet and intimate season for our family where we would love one another well.  A big desire that we have in this season is that we would be intentional with our time and energy. We want to live from a place of abiding in Jesus and walk closely with Him, so that we can fall in love with Him more and become more like Him. While we are aware that God is always calling us to “be” more like Him and “do” the things he calls us to, it feels like this season is one where we can emphasize “being,” so that, in the future, we can “do” from a place of health and wholeness. It also feels like this semester is a time of discernment for us as we seek how God is guiding our family. Please pray for us as we listen to the Spirit’s leading.

Changes at Faith Academy

You can also be praying for the many changes happening at Faith Academy. At the end of this school year, there will be a new elementary (ESD) principal, middle school (MSD) principal, middle school vice principal, high school (HSD) principal, and head of school (HOS)! That’s a lot of transition for the school! The ESD and MSD roles have been filled, but the HSD and HOS roles are still up in the air. Please pray for wisdom as the administration team decides who to hire, for those eventually asked to serve in those roles, and for the school as it adjusts to the new leadership team.

Prayer Requests

  • Praise God for Grady’s knee recovery progress. He is now lifting weights, running, and has recently started jumping (on a trampoline!). Another benefit of this season is that he is able to dedicate more time to his physiotherapy, and it is very encouraging to see his hard work paying off!
  • Pray for our health leading up to the birth, and for a smooth labor and delivery! Pray that we don’t get stuck in traffic on the way to the hospital 🙂 Pray for Britt’s physical, mental, emotional, spiritual health in the postpartum phase.
  • Praise God for our family who will be coming to help us. Grady’s mom flies into Manila on Feb. 8 and we will have family visiting on and off until early April.
  • Pray for Mia as she adjusts to having a little brother around, and pray for us as we help her adjust. Pray that she would feel loved and secure.
  • Pray that Grady would be able to deepen his discipleship relationships with his AP Research students.

Thank you so much for your prayer and support. It really means a lot to us! Please don’t hesitate to reach out and let us know if we can be praying for you in any way.

Much love,  Britt and Grady
