As March arrives, we begin to sense the quiet transition from winter toward spring — a season that reminds us of renewal, growth, and hope. In many ways, this mirrors what God continues to do among us as a church family. We are grateful for the ways we have seen faith deepened, relationships strengthened, and opportunities for service expanded over the past weeks.
This month, we invite you to remain attentive to God’s ongoing work in your life and in our community. Whether through worship, small groups, acts of compassion, or simple conversations of encouragement, each moment becomes an opportunity to reflect Christ’s love. May March be a time when we lean further into trust, step forward in obedience, and continue building a community marked by grace and joy. Thank you for being such an important part of our church family.
MARCH SCHEDULE

March 1, 8, and 15 – We continue our series, The Cross in Full View, the first 3 weeks of the month. The conclusion of the series during the March 15 week is also the closing week of our Life Group session. The next session of Life Groups will begin the week of April 15, with a 10-week series on the apostle Peter.
The following outlines the weekly schedule for March.
March 1 – Communion Sunday. The first Sunday of the month is our Communion Sunday. This is where we also take up our benevolent offering and gather as a community around the Lord’s Table.
March 8 – Daylight Savings Time and Soup Sunday. Make sure to set your clocks to “spring forward” one hour. This Sunday is also the next Soup Sunday and signups will be available in the foyer in the preceding weeks leading up to it.
March 15 – Farewell Tour for the Flemings. Rob and Kathryn Fleming, long-time missionary partners to Japan are retiring. They have a presentation and a farewell message for Village Green who have been long time supporters of their ministry in Japan.
March 22 – Compassion Sunday with Jacob Moon. Compassion Canada will be presenting their ministry and Jacob Moon will be leading us in worship.
March 29 – Palm Sunday and Celebration Service. You are not going to want to miss this service, as we celebrate a number of people who are being baptized this Palm Sunday. Our Celebration Sunday’s are some of the most inspiring services and this one will be no different. Also, following the service is our congregational meeting where we present the proposed budget for 2026-2027. If you are a member, please make time for this important meeting. Budget documents will be available on March 8, while members of the Board will be available after the service on March 15 and 22 to answer any questions.

THEOLOGY JAM

Our podcast schedule is in full swing with a recent release dealing with the question of the controversy surrounding Bethel and using worship music from the church. We grapple with the complexities of theology in contemporary church music.
With respect to Village Green and the use of music from Bethel, we are aware of the implications of their music as part of our worship catalogue. Our worship team exercises prayerful discernment in choosing music that honours Jesus and lifts him in adoration and worship. While many songs may be biblically sound, we also recognize their broader ministry contexts. When theological integrity or credible reports of misconduct and abuse arise within an associated church, such as Bethel, we seek to respond with wisdom, humility, and care for our congregation. We aim to steward worship in a way that reflects both faithfulness to Scripture and sensitivity to those who have been harmed, ensuring our worship remains Christ-centred, edifying, and marked by integrity.
Our March podcast schedule is full of interviews with representatives from Ark Aid, Adullam and Forest Cliff Camps, as well as RC Media and New Life Prison Ministries. We would love you to connect with us on your favourite podcasting platform and if you have a comment or a topic for discussion, you can contact us at theologyjam@gmail.com.
A HEARTFELT THANKS
It is no secret that we could not survive or even present a service without the many volunteers who give of their time and resources to make it all happen. But there are other times where the demands go above and beyond the regular ministry needs. Recently, a group of our volunteers tackled a job that was long in the making: a new floor in our upper kitchen area. If you haven’t seen it please spare a moment to take in the new look!

Also, you will notice some changes in the upstairs Overflow Room. Fresh paint and some attractive elements to make the overflow area more inviting. This space is an important respite for those mornings when crowds or fragrances are overwhelming.
So, as we recognize the work that has been done to improve our facility, we want to thank the many volunteers that give up their time and energy for the sake of making our community a more inviting and safe space. In fact, thank you to all our volunteers who make the richness of God’s Kingdom palpable because of your service, dedication, and commitment to the Lord!
LOOKING AHEAD WITH PRAYERFUL ANTICIPATION
As spring continues to transform our surroundings, the month of April brings the celebration of Easter and the hope of renewal. Once again, we are in the midst of planning our Easter services and looking forward to a time of inspiration and hope as we celebrate the promise of the resurrection!

Besides the next session of Life Groups and a new series on the apostle Peter in mid-April, our Leadership Retreat is scheduled for April 25. This annual gathering of Elders, Board of Directors, and Staff, takes time to evaluate our ministries and look ahead to the coming year and how best to serve the Lord and the ministry he has entrusted to us.
Would you consider partnering with us in prayer? Even though we are experiencing growth and the overwhelming blessing of God, we want to make sure our decisions reflect the wisdom and leading of the Holy Spirit. Our building and parking are being stretched and some new initiatives are being considered as the church continues to grow. Your partnership in prayer would truly be appreciated.
Thanks for partnering with us as we explore life in Jesus together!
