Flemings in the Philippines!

Flemings in the Philippines!

Praise God for a great end to the school year. It’s so fun to reflect on this past year and think of all the experiences had, lessons learned, and relationships built at Faith. Here are some of our highlights from the last quarter of the semester:

Baptisms

By God’s grace, 7 high school students chose to publicly declare their repentance, faith, and obedience to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It was such a privilege to watch their baptisms, and to have been a part of many of their spiritual journeys the past two years.

Coaching

Grady coached volleyball and Britt coached swimming this past quarter. Since it’s the offseason for both of our sports, it was a good opportunity for new students to attend practices, to work on skill development, and continue building relationships with the athletes. We are thankful for the foundation that we were able to lay this year, and we’re excited for next year’s seasons!

Teaching

It’s kind of crazy to think about how much more we feel we got to know our students this year compared to last year, simply because we were in face-to-face classes. We loved teaching and learning with our students during class time, and the informal interactions outside of class too. Several times this year, we had students drop by our classes during lunch and our prep periods to talk more about their faith and lives.

Graduation

The class of 2023 was the first class that we both got to teach! They are a lively and social group who prioritize the relationships in their lives. They love to celebrate people and were kind to everyone. It was so fun to celebrate them at their graduation, and send them off into the world 🙂

Increased Financial Need

Over the last two years, we have been blessed by a beautiful network of financial and prayerful ministry partners who have enabled us to thrive in our roles at Faith Academy and serve in the Philippines. Without your prayer and giving, we cannot do what we do. We are so thankful for each and everyone of you!

Different circumstances have allowed some of our supporters to increase, while others have had to stop. Still others have been able to start giving. Because of the faith and generosity of everyone who has supported us financially throughout our two years at Faith Academy our finances have remained healthy.

With our commitment to go long-term and with our growing family, we are raising an extra $1,100 a month. Although we plan on spending intentional time raising support while we are back in Canada, there are expenses that will arise before we return.  Would you please consider praying about whether God is nudging you to begin giving, or to increase your support?

Prayer Requests

  • Prayer for continued growth, protection, and unity in our marriage
  • Praise God for providing a house for us! One of the reasons why we felt it was a good fit for us is because of the location – it is about a 5-10 minute drive to Faith Academy (avoiding Manila traffic is a big win!). It’s been fun to furnish it and make this space our own 🙂
  • Please pray for a restful and rejuvenating summer, and that we can enjoy this last season before our baby is born. Pray that God would equip and prepare us for parenthood in the ways that He wants to, and that we would lean on Him.
  • Please pray for our students’ summers. Summer can be hard for students as many of our students travel home and miss their friends and community. Pray that they would rest well, and that they would be surrounded by people who would help them grow in their faith.
  • Please pray for us as we begin to think about the logistics of our time next year in Canada.

Thank you so much for your prayer and support. It really means a lot to us!

Much love, Britt and Grady
