On February 20th, we met our precious baby boy, Ethan Kai. We are very thankful for a smooth delivery and recovery so far, and for the peace that God has given us throughout this season.
Ethan is a Hebrew name and means “strong”, and while Kai has various origins, in Japanese (海) it means “ocean”. We like how the ocean is a way that we see God’s strength in creation, and we pray that he would have a strong faith in Jesus. We honestly weren’t sure whether we wanted to call him Ethan or Kai, but after a few weeks of trying out both names, we are planning on calling him Kai!
Mia has adapted extremely well to all the changes and loves her baby brother lots! She loves showing him affection and helping to take care of him. Please continue to pray that she would feel secure and loved. Please also pray for wisdom for us as we parent our kids. Our prayer is that God would expand our hearts to love one another and our children, and that the love of Christ would be felt and known in our home.
God has and continues to faithfully take care of us. Grady’s parents and younger sister were able to visit us for a few weeks before and after Kai’s birth. We are enjoying a few weeks just the four of us, and during this time, our community has organized a “Meal Train”, so most of our dinners will be provided! Towards the end of March, Britt’s parents will come visit us for a few weeks. We are thankful for all the help and support from near and far!
Thank you so much for your prayer and support. We are grateful to God for each and every one of you.
