Flemings in the Philippines!

Flemings in the Philippines!

Hi all!  Thank you again, for praying for our housing situation! This is just a short update on how things have progressed on the housing front.

Some things to praise God for:

Our landlord said that he would keep the security deposit, which is common practice in the Philippines even when lease agreements are fulfilled. However, he said that he wanted to help us out, and knew that as a young family, we probably needed more space. So he agreed to return the final four months of cheques. Praise God!

We have also signed our new lease as of January 25. Our new landlord has been excellent and has made some minor upgrades in preparation for our move-in date on February 1. He has also been kind to us and has allowed us to start moving some smaller fragile items that we would prefer to move ahead of time.

We thank God for surrounding us with such a stellar team of people who pray for us diligently. We feel so blessed and covered in prayer. It feels as though God had prepared this new place, specifically for us!

As we prepare to move in a few days, we have been reflecting on some of the memories we made in our current place: the joys, the tears, the laughter, the celebrations, the gift of welcoming new life into the world, the seemingly never-ending stream of mosquitoes (Grady has been counting, he killed at least 30 today)… As we prepare to move in a few days, we anticipate and wonder what God has in store for us, the highs and the lows. Please continue to pray that we would do our best to honour and glorify God in all that we do, and that we would continue to make disciples, who make disciples, who have Kingdom impact in the Philippines, Southeast Asia, and beyond.  On a separate note, another praise item that we want to share with you all is the one of the students on the Swim Team and her mom recently surrendered their lives to Jesus! The student has described her life as “lighter” and “joyful”, not because life is perfect, but because Jesus is with her. Praise God!! Thank you for your prayers and your partnership in the work God is doing here.

Much love,  Britt and Grady
