Hi all! Thank you so much for praying for our housing situation! Sometimes, God answers our prayers quickly! Shortly after sending out our most recent newsletter, we viewed a place that we think will be a great fit for our family. We have verbally agreed to sign the contract on January 25, and the move-in date is set for February 1. Please pray that things progress smoothly and that there will be no curveballs thrown at us while we prepare to move at the beginning of next month.
Some things that we love about the house:
- There is a mountain view! After having lived in a few places that don’t have many windows, we have learned that living in a place that gets lots of sunlight is important.
- The house is about 15 minutes away from Faith Academy, and the landlord is a Korean missionary. Grady and Brittany have each taught all three of his daughters in the past!
- The house is on Fuji St.! What a fun way for God to provide for us! A little touch of Japan 🙂
There is air conditioning in every bedroom, already installed!
Given that we will be moving before our current contract runs out, we also need prayer as we negotiate a deal to terminate our lease early. Please pray that God would grant us favour with our landlord and that we would be able to terminate the lease without having to pay for the four remaining months. We also put down a security deposit on the house, and it is standard practice for the landlord to keep all of this in the Philippines. We would love it if a portion of it was returned to us but understand that we are putting our landlord in a difficult situation by moving out early. Please pray for wisdom as we negotiate and soft and understanding hearts.
To summarize:
- Praise God that he answered our prayers quickly for a new place to live.
- Pray that things progress smoothly as we approach signing the new lease.
- Pray that God would grant us wisdom as we approach our current landlord about the early termination of our current lease.
Pray that God would soften our current landlord’s heart and that he would deal favourably with us.
This house even has a little green space out front – quite rare for houses in the Philippines!
