I hope everyone had a wonderful Canada Day. I was a year old when my family left our home in Piraeus Greece (the harbour suburb of Athens) and crossed the Atlantic to start a new life in Canada. I have to say, after many years, this past Canada Day found me truly thankful to be here. Not that I was never thankful before, but due to the things we see happening globally, this past Canada Day celebration was one filled with gratitude and blessing for what we enjoy here that others can only dream of.
I hope you are feeling blessed too. May we continue to pray and ask for God’s blessing upon this wonderful place so many call home.
This week’s newsletter is here so hope you take some time to catch up on all that is happening at Village Green.
Media Room
The equipment for the Media Room is beginning to arrive. (The above picture is just a snapshot of some of the equipment).
As we move into more in-house production of videos and content this is a tangible result of our Vision 2020. If you recall, one of the pillars we adopted at our Leadership Retreat was adaptability. This room will help us meet the challenges of providing solid digital content for greater kingdom impact.
If you want to be a part of this exciting new ministry contact the office at office@villagegreenchurch.com
Did You Know?
We all love to hear stories that are encouraging, especially at a time when good news is welcomed news.
Did you know that over these last few months…
- We’ve had new people listening online who haven’t been to the church. There are even rumours of not only faith renewals, but new proclamations of faith.
- We’ve even had a baptism and in the throes of planning another. (Yup, I can hear you asking in your mind about physical distancing).
- We still have a number of volunteers who are partnering with various community groups who are making a difference. Naw, the church is alive and well!
- Our benevolence fund has helped out a number of people and helped them through these critical times.
- We are planning on producing content by our own Kids Connection teachers for airing on Sunday mornings (If you’ve haven’t been contacted you likely will be soon).
Date for Re-Gathering
Village Green will be resuming Sunday morning services on August 9th. We are preparing the building for reopening and over the next number of weeks will be finalizing all the protocols.
If you are interested in coming to the services we are asking that you contact the office with your intent to attend at office@villagegreenchurch.com.
Priority will be given to those who do not have internet access or the inability to engage the live streaming services etc. Our plans for regathering is also dependant upon the continued allowance from the government concerning public gatherings. We may see further stages of the provinces reopening plans released by August.
Lastly, we will not be approving the in-person meeting of Life Groups, Bible Study Groups, Youth Group or any other church related gathering. The recent rise is Covid cases has us moving forward cautiously and the Elders feel the opening of these groups would be premature at this time. Thank you for your patience, prayers, and understanding.

Communion
July is here and this Sunday we will be celebrating the Lord’s Table. If you want to participate in the July 5th Communion service please be ready with bread and cup for your family to join in.
Let us Know How You Can Help?
In Saturday’s E-Blast from MailChimp, there will be a form for any one who wants to volunteer at the church. We will need to know where you can serve, frequency etc. It is one of the many exercises we need to complete in order to be able to regather. We will also need work done at the church during the week so if that is an area where you can help, then please let us know. Look for the form this Saturday! If you are not on our MailChimp E-Blast list, contact the office at office@villagegreenchurch.com
