Update from Rob and Kathryn Fleming

Update from Rob and Kathryn Fleming

Where did the summer go? Some of it was spent down at the pond, with evidence below.

This summer we met a high school friend in Espanola, who drove from Elliot Lake to meet us! Wish it could have been longer, as that is why we are here in Canada. We have enjoyed rich fellowship with good friends and family along the way so far, and look forward to more in the coming weeks. Please feel free to let us know when and where works for you!

Grady has moved to Ottawa, where he will complete his studies with a work term with Global Affairs Canada. His fiancé, Brittany is studying as well. They will get married next April. Tess continues nursing at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto and Jacob is teaching two courses at Tyndale University in Toronto. Julia lives with us in Waterloo, and is on a work term at a local Engineering company until resuming studies in the new year. We are thanking God for the chance to be here in Canada just now.

Do you remember our summer letter in which we asked for prayer for Japanese young people studying in Canada? Kathryn followed up on Kimi, and we met with her friends and home stay “parents” in Guelph. We think she returned to Osaka a believer, and pray that two Osaka Christian friends might be able to follow up.  When in Sault Saint Marie in September, I (Rob) was able to make sushi with three Japanese young men studying English in the Sault. One of them, Shou, came to the Sault Church Association Fall Rally, and his homestay “parents” will encourage him to read a really good manga Bible. The kindness and acceptance of the Christian host families and churches are so important. Thanks so much for your prayers for Japan!

The path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, shining brighter and brighter until midday. Prov. 4:18
