We are coming into the final months of 2023. As November begins, we have a number of significant things happening so hope you take time to check out all the happenings for this month.

NOVEMBER SCHEDULE
November 5 – There is much happening on the first Sunday of November. Here are the things you need to be aware of.

- Clocks fall back one hour because Daylight Saving Time ends. Make sure to set your clocks back before going to bed Saturday night, otherwise you are going to be at church very early.
- It is also the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. There will be a time of prayer prior to the service. Join us in Overflow at 9:00 am. A special video will be presented during the morning service.
- We celebrate Communion, so please be sure to pick up your elements as you enter the auditorium, while those watching online are being asked to have elements prepared beforehand.
November 12 – Prayer with the Elders will be from 4:00-6:00 pm in the main Auditorium.
Everyone is welcome. If you desire an Elder to pray with you drop in anytime throughout the 2 hours. There will be stations set up throughout the Auditorium.

November 19 – We conclude our series, Making Jesus Real. It is also the final week for this session of Life Groups. Our groups will be on break until the 2nd week of January (14th) when we begin a new 10-part series on the Book of Revelation. This promises to be a challenging series so if you’re considering joining a group, this may be the time for you! Contact the church at office@villagegreenchurch.com.
November 26 – This is an open Sunday, meaning that it is a one-off message not related to a series, and could also have a guest speaker. Stay tuned, because whatever is planned, is bound to be a blessing for you.
THEOLOGY JAM
As we enter the second season of the podcast we have a couple of new programs to look for and for you to consider.

- Just released is a podcast where we deal with the recent education protests, a situation that demonstrated the struggle with current cultural ideologies.
- Coming November 14th, we have an exclusive interview with Kent Weber, TDH, in the book and movie, Surprised by Oxford.

EXPLORING LIFE

We recently began unveiling a new “tagline” for the church of Exploring Life. It is essentially a new vision statement to complement our mission to Love God, love others, and change the world. It is meant to evoke the posture of Village Green being a safe place to investigate a life of faith in Christ, and the difference he makes in our lives. Below is the promo script for the new tagline.
Life is a journey. From first breath to last, life can be full of adventure and excitement one moment, then full of doubt and pain the next. We can easily become disoriented by its complexity and overwhelmed by the challenges before us. Despite all that life can throw at us, we all want to have confidence that we are heading in the right direction: one that will help us to confidently navigate all of life with endurance and hope. At Village Green Community Church, we believe that Jesus points us to a better way, a better life, a better hope. Exploring life at Village Green is about exploring the way of Jesus. Come, and embrace the journey with us.
ON THE HORIZON
As we look towards the ending of one year and the start of a new one, the Elders have been in discussion about reinstating some things we enjoyed in the past. One of the discussions relates to bringing back Soup Sunday. In order to do so, there are a number of logistical hurdles to resolve, least of which is the teardown and setup of the auditorium. Please be in prayer for the Elders as they continue their discussions.

A second item has to do with Communion. We adopted a pre-packaged sealed system during Covid which is very expensive compared to the traditional way we use to do it. We also understand that in a post-pandemic world, there is still much hesitation with food and human contact. Your prayers for wisdom are indeed helpful.
