Welcome to the weekly update from Village Green Community Church. Here you will find a number of items to keep you connected to all that is happening at the church.
Coming May 31st – Information Night – Statement on the Current State of Affairs
On May 31st at 8:00 pm, pastor Jon will be giving an information session on the church’s position regarding the pandemic and the way it has affected our decisions as a leadership.
The Elders felt it necessary to have a dedicated evening of clarification, especially as we are potentially moving into the final stages of lockdowns and re-openings.
This will be a pre-recorded session and you can find it on the usual media channels that are typical of a Sunday morning service. Stay tuned for next week’s blog as there will be links to articles that have helped to shape the information night.
New Series – Prayer Matters
Beginning this Sunday is a new three-part series entitled, Prayer Matters. Prayer is not only important, it is vital to our spiritual wellbeing. Join us as we delve into prayer, not as a way of getting what we want, but as a way of recognizing what we truly need, as we build a deeper relationship with our heavenly father.
The Gathering – Coming Sunday, June 13th – Don’t Miss It!
Our next online community GATHERING is scheduled for June 13th and will run from 11:15-12:15. If you are part of our online community and want to meet and get to know others, why not take this opportunity and sign up. You can let the office know by contacting us at email@example.com.
The Gathering is set up in groups of 8 so it’s easy to connect with one another. Remember to also use the new links that will be sent to you just prior to the Gathering (either Saturday or early Sunday). Lastly, the cutoff for letting the office know is Friday, June 11th, at 3:00 pm.
Our focus question for the Gathering revolves around the topic of prayer. “Is prayer simply talking to God, or is there more to prayer than just talking?”
Save the Date! June 27th Congregational Meeting
Coming June 27th is our annual congregational meeting, the first one in almost two years. It will be held virtually and be broadcast right after the morning service.
We will have budget updates as well as the new slate of candidates for Elder, Board Chair, Treasurer, and Church Clerk.
So, if you are a member, please save the date and plan to join us on the 27th. Stay tuned for further details on time, link, and documentation for the meeting.
Last week we introduced two of our summer interns to you. As part of their work here at the church is a total reconstruction and updating of our website. Kate Bahula is directly involved in bringing our site up to date so we wanted to let you know that the construction has already begun.
The changes include a new theme that is being added to the site live, which may mean the site may not look or respond accordingly. Let us know if you are unable to get Life Group material or other resources, but remember, they are included in the Saturday Mailchimp newsletter.
Please be patient as the construction on the site continues. When it is complete it will be more appealing, easier to navigate, and contain many more upgrades. This is just one of the many ways we are improving ourselves in order to serve you better.
Until next week, stay safe and stay healthy
