As summer begins to unfold, the longer days and warmer weather remind us that God is always at work bringing growth and renewal. In the life of our church, the month of June is filled with opportunities to worship, serve, and gather together to deepen our walk with Christ.
June is also the season where many of us begin to slow our pace as we move into the summer months. Even so, the church has plenty of opportunities for you to stay connected to community, whatever the summer holds for you.
Thank you for being such an important part of our church family. Your faithfulness, generosity, encouragement, and willingness to serve continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of many. We are excited for all that God has in store in the weeks ahead. May this month be filled with joy, peace, and fresh reminders of God’s presence in your life.
JUNE SCHEDULE
June 7 and 14 – The first two weeks of the month will be the concluding two weeks of our series on Peter: Portrait of a Transformed Life. Thank you for all the comments I received on how meaningful this series was for many of you.
Also, a reminder that June 7 is also our monthly Communion service and the week of June 14, is the last week of Life Groups for this session. Life Groups will resume in September.
June 21 – Celebrate Father’s Day with us as we welcome Jacob Paul, our missionary partner in Colombia, who will be speaking.
June 28 – Matthew Burkholder will be speaking.

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING
After the June 28 service, we will be having a congregational meeting where we present the audited budget and the new slate of board members and officers for the upcoming year.
Please make it a priority to be part of this important meeting as we want your voice to count.
WELCOME ANGELA

Hi! I am Angela Quiambao, and I am the Summer Student at Village Green this year! I am a University of Windsor alumnus, having completed a concurrent undergraduate degree in English and Teacher’s Education. I worked at Adullam Camps for several years, so you might recognize me from Music Day Camp!
I am looking forward to working here for the next two months as an administrative assistant. I will be completing some projects for the church and will be assisting the VG staff with their projects as well. Feel free to say “hi” and let me know how I can serve!
God Bless, Angela

MINISTRY OPPORTUNITY
Recently, during one of our Tuesday Staff debriefs, we started to map out all the pieces that need to come together to make a Sunday morning work. The product of our brainstorming can be seen in the picture of the whiteboard to give you an idea of what a Sunday entails (And this doesn’t really include all the technology or Kids Connection pieces).
If you are looking for ways to serve, one area where the need is growing is the ushers, greeters, and at the Welcome Centre. As the church grows, the need for people to be welcomed, have their questions answered, be directed accordingly, or to simply find a seat in the auditorium, is a challenge to meet every Sunday.
If you are looking to connect, meet new people, and fulfill a vital role in the church, then contact us by email at office@villagegreenchurch.com, or fill out one of the connection cards in the foyer or fill out the Connection Card below.
THEOLOGY JAM

We have some new offerings heading your way as Matthew and I tackle some deep theological issues. We will be releasing a discussion on the theology of the atonement, a topic that is central to Matthew’s doctoral thesis as Matthew helps us wrestle with the various views. We also just finished one on the topic of hell, and again, looking at the various views and giving some insights to the various ways this topic is being addressed in today’s climate.
We are also beginning a series of podcasts on women and church leadership as we go through the various views on complementarianism and egalitarianism. The series will look at the entirety of Scripture, from the Old Testament, to the early church’s understanding of leadership, to Paul’s difficult passages in 1 Corinthians and 1 Timothy. If this is a topic you have always wondered about then don’t miss out on this series. You can find us on your favourite podcast platform and if you have a suggestion or comment, you can reach us at theologyjam@gmail.com.

I can make no promises that your suggestions will make it onto the calendar, but I can promise you that they will be taken seriously and prayed over.
Thanks again for being a part of Village Green, a church that explores life through the way of Jesus!
May you be richly blessed throughout the month of June.
