Village Green Newsletter – February 2022 Edition

Village Green Newsletter – February 2022 Edition

A new month is upon us and with it comes a new Village Green update in your inbox. As we begin this month the question we want to pose is this, “How are you bringing glory to God in 2022?” We began the year by presenting the challenge of glorifying God in every aspect of our lives.

Some of you are responding in practical ways. Doing more to help others to see the grace of Jesus, while others are committing to devoting more time to prayer and study. Still, others are making an effort to model Christ in every circumstance. Regardless of what you decide, it is a worthy pursuit and one in which the favour of God rests. It takes the wholehearted devotion of God’s people to make a real difference in the world and every small step you take in the direction of Christlikeness is taking us one step closer.

Together we can make a difference so let’s pray for a year where Jesus is glorified, not only in the life of Village Green as a church community but in our individual lives as well.

Communion on Sunday, February 6th

As a reminder, for those attending in person, we have pre-packaged wafers and cups that you can pick up as you enter the auditorium. For those watching through our live stream, we are asking that you prepare the elements beforehand if you like to participate from home.

New Series Coming February 20th. Esther: When the Time is Right

The Book of Esther recounts a time in the history of Israel when God providentially worked to protect his people. Though his name is never mentioned, the Lord is the ultimate hero in a book that recounts the grand story of redemption and hope. A story that holds promise for our world today. Join us for this four part series with many practical life lessons on faith and where to place our ultimate trust when everything appears against us.

Youth Update

The youth are meeting every Tuesday evening and are doing the Alpha Youth program. They are also meeting every other week on Sunday mornings and are going through a study of the series, “The Chosen.” The youth is once again going back to in person meetings as the restrictions for gatherings by the government have been eased.

Staffing Update

We are in the final stages of our interview process and hope to be announcing this month a new worship coordinator. Please pray that the remaining process will go smoothly.

Pastor Jon’s New Book Now Available

Prayer is an important discipline, yet for many, it can either be confusing, intimidating or not well understood. On a popular level, prayer is commonly seen as a means to an end-asking and receiving from God. In Touching God, you will learn that prayer is meant for so much more. This book will transform your prayer life from spiritual duty to one that will touch the very heart of God.

Contact Pastor Jon at leadpastor@villagegreenchurch.com for your copy. Books are $20.

Lastly, if you do purchase a book, please take a few moments to post a review on Amazon or other bookstore retailers. This is one of the best ways to help promote the book to a wider audience.

Ways to Give

We continue to be thankful for the many who faithfully give to the ministries of Village Green.

2. Use the following link to go to the Giving Page on our website, www.villagegreenchurch.com.
3. You can give through e-transfer by going to envelopes@villagegreenchurch.com. please make sure your address is up to date and on file if you use this option. This option is also now available as a link on our website.

Looking Ahead

March 20th is the date set by the provincial government for us to return to full capacity in our auditorium. Masks will still be mandatory, but it means we will no longer be restricted in the number of people we can have during a service.

Please be in prayer as the next couple of months unfold. We are still in need of dedicated volunteers, otherwise we will have difficulty opening up the full capacity of ministries such as Kids Connection. We also need people for the AV, livestream crew and other ministry areas. Please contact the church at office@villagegreenchurch.com if you are able to help.

Thanks again for letting your light shine as we together seek to love God, love others, and change the world.

Be the Lord make his face shine on you.
Prayerfully,
Jon Korkidakis
