As we enter into the month of April we also enter the season of Easter and the services here at Village Green that celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus.
The month of March has been full of inspirational moments, both in our services and within our community, and the month of April continues the trend. The month not only promises a break from a long winter, but the ongoing renewal that we experience as believers in Jesus Christ. We hope you enjoy connecting with the church through this newsletter and are excited for the month ahead.
APRIL SCHEDULE

March 29 – We know this is a March date, but this is a Celebration Sunday where we are experiencing a number of baptisms on what is officially Palm Sunday. Following the service will be our annual Budget meeting and everyone is encouraged to stay. You are not going to want to miss this inspirational Sunday.
April 3 – Good Friday Candlelight Service at 10 am. We will also be celebrating Communion at this service. The Communion will be served differently and instructions will be given for those in person during the service. Our Easter services will focus on The Power of the Cross. The Youth will also be presenting a play.
April 5 – Easter Sunday. We invite you to come and celebrate with us the most significant and most important event in human history-the resurrection of Jesus. A special choir presentation will be given during our Easter service.
April 12, 19 and 26 – Beginning on April 12 is a new 10-part series on the apostle Peter, entitled, Peter, Portrait of a Transformed Life. The promo for the series is as follows:

Peter is often recognized for his strong personality and leadership qualities. He was the first disciple to proclaim Jesus as the Messiah. Though recognized for his role as a disciple of Jesus and a leader in the spread of Christianity to the world, his journey from fisherman to a revered Elder was not easy or uncomplicated. Join us as we discover how growing in faith is rarely a straight line and rarely without failure.
Our next session of Life Groups will also resume the week of April 12 and will run alonside the 10-week study on the apostle Peter. If you want to join a Life Group or find out more information you can contact the church at office@villagegreenchurch.com
ALPHA

Explore life’s biggest questions in an open, welcoming space where people share perspectives and discuss faith, meaning, and life together.
Join us for this 10-week study. Sign up table in the foyer.
This study will be led, once again, by one of our elders, Matthew Burkholder, and promises to be a great opportunity for those who want to learn more about the basics of the Christian faith and the person of Jesus Christ. Take time to sign up today!
CELEBRATE RECOVERY

Village Green would like to announce that Celebrate Recovery is coming to Village Green as a ministry of the church!
Celebrate Recovery (CR) is a biblically-based, recovery program that addresses our Hurts, Hang-ups, and Habits using a 12-step approach based on the Beatitudes from the book of Matthew. CR leaders, understand your struggles, as they have experienced freedom from addictive and dysfunctional patterns in their own lives. They have been trained to guide people through the 12 Steps/8 Principles, and to provide a safe environment for accountability and building authentic relationships.
Celebrate Recovery is starting at Village Green as a weekly ministry program on Tuesday, April 7 at 7:00 pm. Please take a moment and stop by the table in the foyer to pick up some information and talk to someone about the program. The information table will be available for this Sunday and Sunday, March 29.
BASE CAMP
Mark your calendar for Sunday, April 19 for our first official Base Camp, right after the morning service. Base Camp is your starting point at Village Green, because every journey starts somewhere. Base Camp is a welcoming luncheon designed for newcomers and anyone who wants to learn more about who we are, what we believe, and how you can find your place in our church community. Just like a base camp on a mountain, this is where you pause, get oriented, meet your guides, and discover the paths ahead.

At Base Camp, you’ll:
- Enjoy a relaxed meal and meaningful conversation.
- Hear the story, vision, and values of our church.
- Meet pastors, leaders, and other members.
- Learn about ministries, Life Groups, and ways to serve.
- Ask honest questions in a comfortable, pressure-free setting.
You don’t have to have everything figured out to come—Base Camp is simply a place to begin. Whether you’re exploring faith, new to the church, or looking for a deeper connection, this is a safe and friendly starting point for the journey.
LEADERSHIP RETREAT
Our annual Leadership Retreat is on Saturday, April 25. This is when our Staff, Board of Directors, and Elders gather for assessing the year that has past and visioning for the year ahead.
Please take time to pray for this important annual meeting, as we discern God’s direction for the church. It has been a year of incredible blessings and we want to remain faithful to what God has called us as a church and to the ministry he has entrusted to us.

Once again, thanks to everyone who has purchased a copy, but also to the many who have blessed me with their comments. If you are able, I would truly appreciate if you took the time to write a review of the book on your favourite platform as it helps to get the book onto the radar of more people.
