This Week at Village Green – April 23, 2021

This Week at Village Green – April 23, 2021

Here is your weekly update from Village Green Community Church. In this week’s edition you will find a number of updates for the coming weeks. Enjoy!

A Two-Week Break

This update you are presently enjoying comes to your inbox every Friday morning. For the next two weeks Pastor Jon will be on his spiritual retreat (when the sermon calendar and events are planned for the year), so there will be no Friday morning newsletter the next two Fridays (April 30 or May 7).

The next time you can expect an update is Friday, May 14th. In the meantime, you will still be receiving the Saturday email update from the church.

Congratulations – Matthew Burkholder

KENOTIC ATONEMENT IN JULIAN OF NORWICH’S REVELATIONS OF DIVINE LOVE, was featured in volume 21 of their 2019-2020 journal. If you want to read the article online you can grab the link below.

Our focus question for the Gathering revolves around the topic of heaven. “How does knowing the existence of heaven help us to live faithfully in the present?”

New Series – Heaven

A new series coming May 16th

Speaking of heaven, that is the topic of our next sermon series beginning May 16th. Heaven has been the subject of art, literature, philosophy, and even prophecy for centuries. The biblical picture presents Heaven in all its wonder and glory, depicting an eternal home beyond our wildest dreams. Hope you will plan to join us for this inspiring two-part series coming May 16th.

The 11-week series will run on YouTube and you can grab the link and notes at You will find them under the “YouTube Series” tab and then the page for “The Book of Acts.” We are into week #7, Chapters 19-21. If you are part of the study we are asking that you read the chapters ahead of time. The series will conclude on May 17th.

Share – It Could Make a Difference

It’s so easy to “like” and “share.”

We are once again asking if you would take the time to either “like” or “share” the media links or social media posts produced by the church. It is one way we can help to fulfill our mission to “Love God, Love Others, and Change the World.” The first part of our Vision platform is to reach people, and this is a simple way of expanding our reach as a church. Thanks for helping out!

Giving that Touches People’s Lives

We want to thank you for your continued support of the many ministries here at Village Green. Our community is stronger and lives are being touched because of your generosity.

Lets of Options for Making a Difference

Here is how you can make a difference:
1. Drop off your offering at the church, either in the mailbox at the front entrance or in the basket when entering service on Sunday mornings (When physical meetings are allowed).
2. Use the following link to go to the Giving Page on our website,
3. You can give through e-transfer by going to please make sure your address is up to date and on file if you use this option.

I Would Appreciate Your Prayers

As mentioned at the beginning of the newsletter, I am away on my Spiritual Retreat for two weeks. This is the time of the year where I plan out the sermons for the entire year ahead, as well as other key events and meetings.

Please pray for a time of listening to the Holy Spirit and to be sensitive to the types of messages needed to speak into the realities of our present world.

For now, stay safe, stay calm, and stay safe,
But most of all, continue to trust in the Lord.

Jon Korkidakis
