Messages on God

Part 6: Love

Similar to God’s goodness, love is another attribute that when misunderstood, creates a one-dimensional caricature that misrepresents the very heart of God. Exodus 34:5-7; John 3:16-17; 1 Corinthians 13:1-3; 1 John 4:8

Part 5: Good

The goodness of God in modern culture is either the most embraced or the most refected. How do we understand God as good in a world where suffering and evil exists? Exodus 33:19; Psalm 145:5-9; Romans 12:21;1 Thess. 5:15

Part 4: Holy

One characteristic that sets God apart from his creation is holiness. It is also a characteristic that becomes an important part of our faith journey as we grow in our relationship with God. Isaiah 6:1-7; Leviticus 20:26; Matthew 5:48; 1 Thess 4:7; 1 Peter 1:16

Part 3: Spirit

For centuries, the question of God’s material essence has been the cause of speculation and theological argument. Scripture, though, provides important details to inform our worship and obedience. John 4:24

Part 2: Knowable

Is God an abstract concept or is he truly knowable? Many who reject the notion of God reject the idea of a personal relationship with the creator, and in doing so, miss one of God’s most important attributes. Proverbs 8:17; Jeremiah 29:10-14; Hebrews 11:5-6; Colossians 1:15; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Romans 1:20; John 17:1-5

God Is… Part 1: Three-In-One

The Trinity is a unique formulation for God that is essential to the Christian faith, yet one of the most difficult concepts to understand and comprehend, and the first step in knowing God intimately. Matthew 28:19; John 14:16-17; 2 Cor 13:14

Numbers 33:53 Numbers 33 is a list of the 40 places that the Israelites camped at during their 40 years in the Sinai Desert after fleeing Egyptian slavery. But why did Moses write it? Why did God want it in the Bible? Why should we read it, and how can it help us?
