Happy Canada Day and welcome to our monthly newsletter. As we enter the month of July, we are reminded that every season is an opportunity to experience God’s faithfulness in fresh ways. Summer often brings a change of pace—a chance to rest, reconnect with family and friends, and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation.

In this month’s newsletter, you’ll find updates on upcoming events, opportunities to serve, and stories of how God is at work in our church family. Whether you’re traveling or staying close to home, we pray that you will find time to worship, reflect on God’s goodness, and share His love with those around you.

JULY SCHEDULE

July 5, 12, 19, 26 – Our series for July is Two Worlds Apart: Kingdom Living in an Age of Empire. This series explores how to maintain one’s faith and values in a secular or morally challenging environment. How do we as believers remain resilient and gracious, promoting the values of Jesus in our daily lives, while engaging positively with the world around us?

A reminder that the first Sunday in July (the 5th) is our monthly Communion service as well as the time of the month where we take up a benevolent offering.

DAY CAMPS ARE HERE!

July marks the month of Day Camps. From July 6-10, Forest Cliff Camps is here whose mission is to “create life-impacting and unforgettable experiences that encourage young people to learn more of themselves and God.” There is a community BBQ on the Thursday (9th), but see details below.

From July 27-31, Adullam Music Camp will be here as they present opportunities for children to learn more about Jesus and themselves. The camp concludes on the Friday with a concert presented by the campers and its an event you don’t want to miss! Stay tuned for announcement on starting time for the concert.

Lastly, let’s be praying for these impactful weeks that children will come to know the saving grace of Jesus, and that all workers and volunteers will experience blessing and purpose as they teach and build community with the children.

Tickets are sold after church in the foyer and are available until July 26. Tickets are $65 each which includes coffee, snack and lunch.

Below is a promotional excerpt from Denise.

How do we experience a joy filled journey when life is difficult? How can we sense joy in the midst of chaos and challenging circumstances? Let’s discover together what it means to experience joy in our journey – in whatever we face.

As we explore our hearts and surrender our pain to God, He will change our perspective and open our eyes to experience His joy in the messiness of life. As we humble ourselves and step out in faith, we will not only begin to sense joy but we will become active in sharing joy with others.

This promises to be an inspiring day together so we hope to see you there.

LIVESTREAM CHALLENGES

The past few months have been challenging in terms of our live stream. Most Sundays it is working fine, while others it is unreliable. So much so that it went down altogether during the June 28th service. The problem on the 28th was a faulty router that is being replaced before next service.

Frustrated gamer holding head with hands in front of computer screens showing game over

As an update, we are doing our best to isolate the difficulties and get them corrected as quickly and as effectively as possible. We understand how frustrating it is when you are home, worshipping and enjoying being part of the service when all of a sudden the connection is shaky or unavailable altogether. It is also frustrating for our volunteers who feel helpless at times to correct the problem.

The matter is a top priority for the church and we will update you as soon as we have a reliable solution in place. Prayers appreciated and thank you for your patience.

COMING AUGUST 30 – OUR NEXT CELEBRATION SUNDAY

Celebration Sundays have become some of the most memorable services here at Village Green as we have watched many spiritual milestones crossed over the years. If you are considering taking a significant step in your faith walk, such as baptism, coming into membership, or dedicating your family to name a few, please take a moment to let the church know by contacting us at office@villagegreenchurch.com.

Our next Celebration Sunday is August 30th so don’t miss out on taking the next step in your walk with Jesus.

COMING SOON – AUDIOBOOK VERSION

The final edits are complete and the audiobook version of Revelation from 30,000 Feet: Reclaiming the Most Abused and Misused Book of the Bible will be available soon.

The book is read by myself (Jon) and was a labour of love these past few months. Again, thank you to everyone who has supported this book and if you haven’t posted a review as of yet, please make sure to take a few minutes and post one. Every review helps to get the word out.

Thank you as well to all the people who were praying for me while I was on my spiritual retreat. The calendar of messages is now complete until September 2027 and I am excited for what we will be learning together. I hope you are excited too.

One last request. Please pray for the leadership. During July, we will once again gather together to evaluate and consider what God wants next for Village Green. This has been a season of incredible growth, both numerically and spiritually, and we want to be sensitive to what God has been preparing us for.

Until next time, may the Lord continue to let His face shine upon you!
