A Christmas prayer

A Christmas prayer

To our Village Green Community Church family;

As Darlene and I were preparing our Christmas letter for 2012 we were reflecting on the year and the incredible journey we are on as a church.  In doing so, we could not help but give thanks to God for the way he continues to bless us through you.  Therefore, for this year’s letter, we wanted to share our prayer for Village Green, one that we hope you share with us as we anticipate the wonder of the Christmas season, and a new year filled with every good gift from above!

Dear Heavenly Father: May your Name be honoured in your church as we seek to live in faithfulness to your Word.  May Jesus take His rightful place as Head of his church, and may we be instruments that are used to bring the light of Jesus to a dark world.

May you continue to shape us into models of your grace and stretch us beyond our comforts, to be more gracious, more generous, more forgiving, and more open to your eternal purposes?  Remind us Lord that the best vantage point for viewing reality is whenever we are on our knees.

May we be reminded that the battle is yours, and have the confidence to know that you are able to do immeasurably more than we could ever hope or imagine, recognizing the power of the Spirit to unite us and accomplish your plan.

Keep us mindful of your care and may our worship lift high the One who gave it all for us. Bless our efforts as we seek your kingdom and expand our borders with lives that have been transformed to new creations; we pray these things in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

May you be blessed this Christmas season, whatever your circumstances.  Our hope is that Jesus will compel you to live for him and to know the peace that passes all understanding.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Jon and Darlene Korkidakis
