Continuing Our 50th Anniversary Celebrations
Last week we had the honour of interviewing the Harrisgreen family as part of our 50th anniversary services in November. If you missed the interview you can grab the video here. The interview starts at the 8:38 mark.
We’ve also released a historical reflection from many past and present members. If you want to read their reflections you can grab the digital version below.
You can check out our promotional video here!
Coming November 29 – Soup Sunday!
November 29th is the final Sunday of our 50 year celebration month. So, we will be gathering for a virtual Soup Sunday starting at 11:45, shortly after the morning service. Soup Sunday’s at Village Green is a long-standing tradition so it becomes a fitting encore to our anniversary month.

If you want to participate, please contact the office at office@villagegreenchurch.com or at 519-473-5505, by November 27th for further information and instructions.
Communion on December 6th Service
We once again have the opportunity to celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of the month. If you attend in person you can pick up sealed communion elements as you enter the auditorium. For those of you watching online we ask that you prepare the elements if you wish to participate.
Upcoming Christmas Schedule

We begin a new series, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, on the first Sunday of December. We are excited to have Brent and Jennifer Paul lead us each Sunday through Advent devotions as part of our countdown to Christmas.
We also want to announce the theme for our Christmas Eve service, The Gift of Belief. The service will feature traditional carols, Scripture readings, special guests, a message, and the lighting of the candles. You are not going to want to miss this service filled with hope and inspiration and even a few surprises.

The service will be fully streamed online on Christmas Eve beginning at 7:00 pm. Due to the pandemic restrictions for large groups, there will be no in-service attendance component this year.
Lastly, there will be no service on the final Sunday of the year, December 27th.
Our Christmas, Be a Light, Do What’s Right, Campaign.
The unprecedented health and economic crisis caused by COVID-19 is impacting the lives of hundreds of people in our community, many of who were already struggling to make ends meet. No one can predict the long-term impacts of this pandemic, but one thing we know for certain – the need for coats this fall and winter will be greater than ever before.
WHAT WE NEED: Adult-sized coats and gloves, men’s clothing of all types and sizes. Women’s clothing – sweaters, leggings as well as footwear in good condition for both men and women.
WHERE TO DONATE: Make a “no-contact” donation drop off at Village Green Church.
WHEN CAN YOU DROP OFF: Drop off times between 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays of the week. The next drop off days are December 1 and 2, and December 8 and 9.
Youth Schedule
December 1 – YFC Holiday Fire – Present stealing, snacks, the Christmas story, and more!
December 8 – Secret Santas. A mission to bless some Village Green seniors (drivers needed).
December 15 – Skate night. Skating at Victoria Park.
NOTE: Should the province announce further restrictions and/or lockdowns that affect the scheduling of youth events, the leaders will be in contact with each family to notify them of any changes to the programming.
Give!
As we enter the Christmas season it’s also time when many are considering their donations and giving to various ministries and organizations. This note is a simple reminder to remember the ministry of Village Green in your financial planning. We were approximately 13% below budget in the month of October.
We are grateful for the many who continue to faithfully give to the ministry here at Village Green. There are three primary ways to give to the church:
1. Drop off your offering at the church, either through the mailbox during the week or in the basket when entering the service on Sunday morning.
2. Go to our website, www.villagegreenchurch.com, and use the Give button on the top-right menu bar. There is also a Give bottom in the footer menu of the website as well. The Give button will take you to our PayPal portal.
3. You can also give by using envelopes@villagegreenchurch.com to make e-transfers to the church. If you do use this option, please make sure we have an address on file so we know where to send the receipt.
Re-Gathering Protocols
We also have a document listing the protocols for our Sunday morning gatherings. For a full list of our protocols, you can grab them below.

Blessings and thank you for your commitment to the Lord in these trying times.
