Welcome to this week’s newsletter. Keeping you informed and connected is an important value here at Village Green Community Church, so with that in mind, here is this week’s update.
December Lineup
We began a new series, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, and we are excited to have Brent and Jennifer Paul leading us each Sunday through Advent devotions as part of our countdown to Christmas.
If you missed last week’s Advent devotional you can catch it on our YouTube channel here. The devotional is at the beginning of the service.
We are excited to see our production of the Christmas Eve service, The Gift of Belief, coming together. You are not going to want to miss this special presentation filled with carols, readings, a children’s play and much more. The service will be streamed on December 24th starting at 7:00 pm EST. It will be available on any of our broadcast channels – Website, Facebook, and YouTube.
We are also planning a Carol Sing in the upper parking lot on December 19th at 5:00-5:30 pm. You can register by signing up here.
We are also looking for outdoor Christmas lights to decorate the parking lot for the carol sing (borrowed or donated, either will work). Anyone with lights can contact the church at office@villagegreenchurch.com.
Lastly, a reminder that there will be no service, either in-person or live streamed, on the last Sunday of the year, December 27th.
Our Christmas, Be a Light, Do What’s Right, Campaign
Our clothing drive for Mission Services concluded last week but we wanted to thank everyone for the overwhelming response. Village Green demonstrated a heart of generosity and a tangible expression of how we love others in our community.
It is through moments like these where we are truly living out our mission of loving God, loving others and changing the world!
Staying the Course
As a church, we are continually monitoring the announcements from the government. As cases continue to rise in the London area there are indications that we may be looking at further restrictions and lockdowns. If any of these restrictions apply to any of our in-person gatherings or Christmas schedule we will let you know as soon as possible.
Youth Schedule
The next youth event is on December 15 which is skating at Victoria Park. This is the last scheduled event for this year but stay tuned for the 2021 schedule. Tentatively, the youth are planning their first event the third week of January.
Life Groups
Life Groups are a vital part of the ministry here at Village Green. It’s the one area where we see transformational growth on a consistent basis.
So, we wanted to give you ample time to prepare for the next session which begins the week of January 10th, 2021. We will begin a new series entitled, The Future Me. The series will explore the spiritual and practical steps needed to get you where you want to be.

Give!
There are three primary ways to give to the church:
1. Drop off your offering at the church, either through the mailbox during the week or in the basket when entering the service on Sunday morning.
2. Go to our website, www.villagegreenchurch.com, and use the Give button on the top-right menu bar. There is also a Give bottom in the footer menu of the website as well. The Give button will take you to our PayPal portal.
3. You can also give by using envelopes@villagegreenchurch.com to make e-transfers to the church. If you do use this option, please make sure we have an address on file so we know where to send the receipt.
