Welcome to 2025! As we step into the year 2025, we find ourselves at a crossroads of opportunity and renewal. With each new year comes the chance to reflect on our journey, to celebrate our blessings, and to set our sights on the possibilities that lie ahead. Let us embrace this new beginning with open hearts and minds, seeking to strengthen our community and deepen our faith.
JANUARY SCHEDULE
January 5 – A start of the year message from pastor Jon Korkidakis. The first Sunday of the month is also our Communion Service. Pre-packaged communion cups will be distributed during the service. If you are watching online, please have the elements prepared beforehand.
January 12, 19, & 26 – We begin a new 10-part series on January 12 entitled, The Book: Distant Voices, Timeless Truths. Over the course of these 10 weeks, we will survey the entire Bible from start to finish. The following is the promo for the series.

The Bible is the book above all other books. Though it was written long ago, its truths are timeless. It spans multiple generations with spiritual guidance, moral principles, and historical teachings. But most of all, it tells of a faithful God, and a Messianic hope that brings salvation and redemption to the world.
If you want to check out the video promo for the series you can find it below.
We also begin the next session of Life Groups. If you are interested in signing up, changing to a different group or time, you can contact the church at office@villagegreenchurch.com.
SOUP SUNDAY

Mark Sunday, January 19 for our next Soup Sunday gathering. If you are interested in making soup please make sure to sign up in the foyer. Sign-ups will begin a couple of weeks before the event. Otherwise, everyone is welcome to stay, enjoy some homemade soup, and have some encouraging time together as a community.
PRAYER WITH THE ELDERS

Mark your calendars for January 26, when the Elders will be availble for prayer. From 4-6 pm at Village Green Community Church, you can come and bring your prayer needs and one of our Elders will take some time and pray for those needs. This is a time of confidentiality and encouragement and we look forward to serving you in this way.
If you have a need that you would like prayer from an Elder, this is your invitation to come on January 26 from 4-6 pm.
COMING FEBRUARY 2

Starting the first Sunday in February, we will be returning to the way we served Communion before the pandemic. We will no longer be handing out the sealed all-in-one cups.
We will go back to handing out the bread and cup separately. This obviously does not impact those online. For our online viewers you will simply continue to prepare communion for your household.
BENEVOLENCE UPDATE
The Christmas season is a difficult time for many and also an opportunity to help out the various ministries that need support from churches like Village Green.

Because of your generosity, we were able to help many families who are experiencing financial difficulties, through grocery gift cards, as well as other practical help.
We were also able to send year-end financial gifts to Mission Services of London, Ark Aid Mission, Salvation Army Centre of Hope, London Crisis Pregnancy Centre, and the London Food Bank.
Thank you for your ongoing generosity. We were able to bless not just the families in our community, but many organizations that are also helping to make a difference.
FRAGRANCE AWARENESS
A number of people in our congregation have extreme fragrance allergies. Please be mindful that when attending in person, you should refrain from putting on anything that could trigger an allergic reaction in another person.

This is not an easy request to make, but for those that it affects, it makes sitting in church difficult and uncomfortable. We do have some who are hesitant to attend in person due to this issue. Any restraint that you can exercise will help those who struggle with this very real problem. Thank you for your consideration.
Thank you again for your part in making Village Green a church that loves God, loves others, and seeks to change the world. And of course, the greatest change we can bring is to invite people to explore life through the way of Jesus.
Blessings to you all for a spiritually healthy 2025!
Jon Korkidakis.
