This Week at Village Green – March 26, 2021

Welcome to this week’s update from Village Green Community Church. We have had quite a week considering all the news and updates that were shared last Sunday during our State of the Church Address. A big thank you to Al Vanderlaan (Chair of the Board) who joined me last week on the platform.

Al reminded us that the two primary areas of focus for the church for the coming year will be discipleship and community. As a church, we will be finding more creative ways to become more intentional in these two areas. If you missed the interview or want to hear it again you can grab the link to the video HERE.

The interview starts at the 34:10 mark of the video.

We Have Room for You!

We want to remind you that we are allowed 30% capacity in our auditorium and to date, we have not even come close to maxing out the limit. If you have been wondering about returning to in-person attendance, just let the office know of your intention to attend.

If you have already let the office know, then you do not have to sign up again. Our expectation is that you will attend on a regular basis unless you let us know otherwise. You can contact the office at office@villagegreenchurch.com.

Easter Services

All our services begin at 10:00 am EST.

Palm Sunday – March 28 – In-Person and Online.
Good Friday – April 2 – Online Only. Communion will be presented at this service.
Easter Sunday – April 4 – In-Person and Online.

New Hours – Kids Connection

Beginning Sunday, April 4 (Easter Sunday), our Kids Connection live stream will run from 9:15-9:45. This helps to alleviate the common complaint we heard of the service and Kids Connection running simultaneously. Thank you for all those who contributed to the survey and helped us make the best decision for this ministry.

New Series and Next Session of Life Groups

We will begin a new 5-part series on April 11th entitled Things God Uses. God uses key things to grow us and make us aware of his working in our lives. Some are natural and obvious, while others come in unexpected places and times. Join us as we learn how to witness God working in our lives, especially at a time when many are wondering if he’s even there.

The next session of Life Groups begins on April 11th and will run until the week of June 13th. If you want to learn more about our Life Groups or sign up, you can do so by contacting us at elders@villagegreenchurch.com.

2021-2022 Budget

April 1st is the start of our budget year and the new budget is now available. If you would like a copy you can contact the church at office@villagegreenchurch.com.

A Study on the Book of Acts

Our study in the Book of Acts continues this Monday, March 22nd at 7:00 pm EST. The hour-long series will run on YouTube and you can grab the link and notes at www.jkorkidakis.com. You will find them under the “YouTube Series” tab and then the page for “The Book of Acts.” We are into week #4, Chapters 6-8.

The Gathering – April 18th

Our next online community GATHERING is scheduled for April 18th and will run from 11:15-12:15. If you are part of our online community and want to meet and get to know others then why not take this opportunity and sign up.

You can let the office know by contacting us at office@villagegreenchurch.com.

Options for Giving and Helping to Transform Lives

At our State of the Church Address, our Board Chair, Al Vanderlaan, challenged us to consider increasing our giving to the church. Your gifts not only allow us to stay on mission, but they also allow us to continue to care for others in the name and love of Jesus.

1. Drop off your offering at the church, either in the mailbox at the front entrance or in the basket when entering service on Sunday mornings (When physical meetings are allowed).
2. Use the following link to go to the Giving Page on our website, www.villagegreenchurch.com.
3. You can give through e-transfer by going to envelopes@villagegreenchurch.com. please make sure your address is up to date and on file if you use this option.

Stations of the Cross

This year, RoyalView Church is presenting the Stations of the Cross as an interactive experience. It takes 30-45 minutes to walk through the stations and will run from Monday, March 29th to Thursday, April 1st from 4-8 PM.

The event is completely safe and in keeping with all health-related protocols. For more information, you can go to www.royalview.org.

Thanks for taking the time to stay connected and thanks for all you do!
Until next time, stay safe and stay healthy!

Jon Korkidakis
