First off, here is an updated schedule of mostly Sunday morning meetings we have with supporting churches. If you live nearby, feel free to join us! All of our meetings are in Ontario (Including Boston, Ontario!) Also, if we are “coming to a church near you”, please don`t hesitate to contact us and arrange a get-together apart from church. That is why we are here in Canada. During the week we are usually in Waterloo, and free most evenings.
On the family front we are praising God for great news! Grady is engaged to Brittany Lewis! We are so happy for them. Tess has started a new job at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto and she and Jacob just celebrated their 3rd wedding anniversary. Julia continues her studies during this summer semester and is looking for a job for her next co-op work term. We are thanking God for allowing us to be here in Canada for this season of our kids’ lives.
We have an interesting prayer request as we begin our travels around Ontario. It is for Japanese young adults studying/working in Canada, and doing homestays with Christian families. We have already met one such person in a church we visited recently, and Kathryn was able to meet up with her for dinner. The kindness and acceptance of the family and church are drawing her to Christ and has notably changed her outlook on life! Note this statistic: 1/3 of all Japanese who work or study in the West become Christians. That is a remarkable statistic considering only 0.4% of Japanese are Christians. This is a wonderful ministry that some of you have before you, and we look forward to what God does as we meet Japanese young people hosted by Christians in our supporting churches!
