Our Operational Code

Our operational principles describe the foundation from which the ministry and the mission happen at Village Green. We use the acronym “BRIDGE“, which stands for Biblical, Relevant, Inspiring, Dynamic, Grace-filled, and Excellent.

We seek God’s truth and purpose through His Word

Scripture is the rule and standard for all of life. It is God’s unique revelation of His unique Son, Jesus Christ, and holds the only true revelation for all faith and practice. (Prov 30:4-6; Isa 40:8; Matt 4:4; 1 Cor 3:10-11; 2 Cor 4:2; Eph 2:20; 1 Tim 6:3-4; 2 Tim 2:15; 4:2; Heb 4:12; 1 Pet 1:20-21)

We apply God’s truth to contemporary life

The Word of God cautions us not only to be hearers of the Word, but also doers of the Word. Jesus never spoke the truth of the Kingdom without the expectation of it having the power to transform lives, all of which was accomplished by speaking to people in real and practical ways. The intent is to bring about a deeper faith in Christ and a transformation within one’s character that genuinely emulates the character of Christ, through dependency upon the Holy Spirit. By knowing Christ, people will learn to make practical, positive changes within themselves, their relationships, and in the world around them. (Luke 6:47-49; 11:28; Rom 2:12-14; 12:4-21; 1 Cor 6:15-20, 9:19-23; 10:31-11:1; 12:6-31; Eph 4:11-16; 2 Tim 3:16-17; Titus 2:7-8; Jas 1:19-3:12)

We connect intellect and emotions with the greatness of God

Our church will provide motivation that encourages and teaches people to extend their worship of God into every aspect of their lives, demonstrating joyful living as a result of our hope in Christ while building into each life a reverence for God. Filtered through the authority of the Bible, we will provide an atmosphere for people to experience personal change through environments that inspire growth. (Ps 8:1-9; 19:1-14; 65:8; 99:2; 113:4-6; Isa 57:15; John 3:16; Rom 5:8; 8:18-39; 11:33-36; 12:1-2; 2 Cor 5:2-4; 6:10; Phil 4:9; Col 1:27; 2 Tim 3:16; Heb 2:6-8)

We continually adapt and develop for greater impact and influence

To be a dynamic church is to be a force in motion, continually engaging in creative ways that leads people to deepen their walk with Jesus. It is a call for constant testing and evaluation with a commitment to being mission-shaped in all we do. (Matt 10:37-39; 16:24; 19:21; 28:19-20; Luke 9:62; 14:26-29; John 8:12; 12:26; Rom 6:3-6, 13; 8:5-6; 12:1-2; 1 Cor 3:1-3; Gal 5:22-26; Eph 4:13-15; 5:8-9; Phil 3:12-14, 17; Col 3:12-15; Heb 5:11-6:3; 11:6)

We infuse everything around us with the hope found in Jesus

Village Green will be a place rooted in the grace of God. As recipients of God’s grace we become mediators so that others will be drawn into the presence of God’s love. The church stands as a community where darkness is vanquished and will resonate as a place of refuge and hope. (Rom 2:4; 5:1-5; 6:14; 12:3; 1 Cor 4:3-5; 2 Cor 1:12; Gal 2:19-21; 5:13; 6:1-5; Eph 1:5-11; 2:7-10; Phil 2:3; Titus 2:11; Heb 4:16; 7:25-26; 1 Pet 5:12; 1 John 2:1)

We strive to be the best God meant us to be, both individually & collectively

Whatever decision, ministry, or direction is taken as it pertains to Village Green, it is done with the intent and pursuit of excellence for God’s glory and for the sake of others. (Luke 9:62; Rom 12:2; 1 Cor 14:12; 2 Cor 5:16; 8:7; Gal 3:26-29; 6:15-16; Eph 2:1-10; 4:22-25; Phil 2:5-15; 3:1-21; 4:8; Col 3:1-10; Titus 3:8; Heb 5:12-6:3)
