Welcome to another week and another update from Village Green Community Church.
Media Room Update!
Our media room is ready and will start to produce content beginning next week. It is one step towards fulfilling the initiatives that were laid out in our 2020 Leadership Retreat back in May. In looking forward, we established 4 pillars for ministry in the years ahead. They are:
- Adapt early
- Communicate often
- Connect deeper
- Lead missionally
This new addition to the ministry of Village Green will help us to minister through new media opportunities in order to fulfill our mission to Love God, Love Others, and Change the World.
As part of this week’s update, I wanted to list a few items that I would like you to consider praying about.
- Wisdom for the leadership of the church. Every decision during this season seems fraught with much emotional energy. From those who believe this pandemic is a hoax to those who demand the church not cave into fear or government, no decision made is an easy one. Yet, if we truly care about the welfare and safety of others, the responsibility of the church and those who claim to be Christ followers is crystal clear.
- How to navigate the months ahead. As September approaches, we are looking at making rooms available for groups (depending on size and physical distancing measures) as well as the grounds around the building. Please be in prayer as we consider how to best accommodate the various groups and their needs while maintaining and assuring as best as possible people’s safety.
Just a reminder that if you want to begin attending live services you need to make the office aware of your intention to attend at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you have already signed up, our assumption is that you will continue to come unless you communicate otherwise to the main office. Remember that doors will open at 9:45 am.
As we begin the slow transition of re-gathering we are asking that you take time and pray for our services, especially that guidelines will be respected in order to keep everyone safe. For a full of our protocols you can grab our VG-Re-Gathering Protocols 2020.
Your Story, Our Church!
Last week we read John Scott’s testimony as part of our Your Story-Our Church series. You can grab the link and read his story below:
We would love to hear from you. Answer either question – How has Village Green blessed you during this time, or, What has God been teaching you during this time?
If you are open to sharing your story, you can send it to email@example.com
Coming September 1st is Infinity Youth’s “Summer Connect Movie Night.” Held in the parking lot of the church there will be popcorn, pizza, drinks, and of course, a movie (which is being kept a secret until you get there)!
The event is from 7:30 to 10:30 so bring a lawn chair and a friend and join us for a fun night of re-connecting and relaxing.
One of our vision statements is simply: GIVE. Many of you are demonstrating a heart of generosity during a very difficult time and just wanted to say thank you for your continued financial support of the work here at Village Green.
One area to note especially is benevolence. The church has been able to help many families and ministry partners during times of financial uncertainty. Your generosity has not gone unnoticed and we continue to experience the ability to bless many because of it.
A reminder that you can now use firstname.lastname@example.org to make e-transfers to the church. If you do use this option, please make sure we have an address on file so we know where to send the receipt. We also have a PayPal portal on our website: villagegreenchurch.com. You can also drop off your offerings through the mail slot at the church. It is checked on a regular basis.
